This paper reviews views of business in terms of Asian culture and Singapore’s unique position to determine whether participative management is appropriate in Singapore. It concludes that not only is it appropriate, it also is very much in practice. The paper discusses management theory, management history, Singapore’s great progress over the past 40 years and gives examples of two leading Singapore companies already using business models most conducive to participatory management. Are Women's Lives In East And Southeast Asia Better Now Than They Were In The Past?

That the female gender continues to succumb to patriarchal oppression in many parts of the world is indicative of fear and intimidation inherent to gender dominated societies. Examining the progress made in East Asia and Southeast Asia finds that when comparing Taiwan and Malaysia, only one of the two countries has shown any indication of gender respect and equity.
