Affirmative Action

What that meant for the academic world was if two entrance candidates were equally qualified on all levels, yet one was a minority and the other was white, the minority would automatically be accepted. In attempting to assess the true impact of affirmative action policies over the years, there is disagreement regarding degrees of wage gains, but there is little disparity of opinion in the fact that gains have been made. Whatever positive effects affirmative action policies have had over the years, those policies' usefulness now appears to be dated and irrelevant themselves.
