Christian Exclusivism and a Pluralist Society

This 10 page report discusses pluralism, exclusivism, Christian exclusivism, and inclusivism. The basic premises of each is outline and the conflicts that are inherent between them is discussed. For example, religious pluralism is viewed differently from perspectives of exclusivism, tolerance, and interdependence, while cultural pluralism is seen from more of a secular focus on the relationships between peoples and their differing cultures rather than the relationship between people and their faith. Religious traditions that claim that their truths are the exclusive truth see pluralism as something to be opposed, because “competing” religions are considered to be false.
